Project Intro
Surf Bagel came to Vivid looking for something simple: fresh, high-quality content they could use across their marketing.
For this ongoing creative partnership, the Vivid team regularly visits different Surf Bagel locations to capture the people, food, spaces, and behind-the-scenes moments that make the brand what it is.
From interior and exterior photography to social media reels and TV commercial, we’ve built an ever-growing library of content that Surf Bagel can use across their website, social media, print materials, digital advertising, and beyond.
Objective
For a restaurant, great food needs to be paired with great photography and video.
However our goal was about more than simply making the bagels look good. We worked to show people what actually happens behind the counter and to give them more reasons to visit, order, and engage with Surf Bagel.
We’ve created content around specific locations and services, including the walk-up window at their Middletown location, making it clear that customers can quickly pick up online and DoorDash orders without even stepping inside. And when Surf Bagel opened their new Christiana location, we helped introduce it to customers through a mix of photography, video, and a television commercial. We’ve also created content promoting ordering ahead through the Surf Bagel app, giving customers another convenient way to get their food.
Process
The process is intentionally simple. Surf Bagel lets us know which location they’d like to feature and gives us a few dates that work for their team. We choose a date that works on our end, show up, and spend an hour or two capturing everything they have in mind.
We work directly with the team at each location to capture the content without getting in the way of their normal operations or disrupting customers. We keep things moving, make the shoot fun for everyone involved, and look for the little moments that give viewers a real look at the brand.
After the shoot, we take everything back to the studio, sort through the footage, edit the best content, and deliver a large library of finished photos and videos within a few weeks.

We make the process easy and fun. Surf Bagel doesn’t have to spend days planning a shoot or manage a complicated production. They tell us where to go, we show up and do the work, and a few weeks later they have a new collection of high-quality content ready to use.
Rather than agreeing ahead of time to deliver a certain number of photos, we capture everything we can and deliver all of the strong, usable content. That gives Surf Bagel a much larger library to pull from and lets us be flexible on-site to hold nothing back in our content capturing.
It’s been a great partnership with a great team, and we’re proud to continue creating alongside Surf Bagel.
